Pros

You will meet *some* genuinely nice developers who love what they do and will welcome you with open arms. Development teams are compartmental, and in some cases, will even listen to your ideas and suggestions so long as you can back them up with honest and intelligent reasoning.

Cons

Management, Management, Management - In every possible way, the management needs to change. Some managers have anger/temper issues, some managers have preferential treatment towards some employees, and will literally treat the rest like 2nd class citizens. Other Managers have ego problems that get in the way of getting work done, others still, will do literally no work when they feel they can get away with it, and do it in front of other employees, whom they do not feel threatened by. Witnessed from different Managers; Literally screaming at employees in front of the group, or at the entire group. Drawing non-work related content while clocked in (when Art is not their job) and doing ZERO RS work while surrounded by devoted employees who work through blood, sweat, and tears, to do what they love. Backstabbing other Managers and employees. Placing blame on other Manager's or employees shoulders. Outright refusal to back/defend employees. Bad project planning leading to 70 hour workweeks with no goal or ETA in sight. Layoffs *seemingly* at random, even during crunch periods. Other Cons Involvement with Volt No open or honest communication with employees/developers. Ownership by a sometimes heavy-handed Publisher. False promises of permanence. Zero benefits. Offloading work of multiple jobs from multiple departments, on to 1-2 people.

Pros

As the title says, the work life balance is the star of the show, as is a great company culture. The benefits are great too.

Cons

Pay is less than standard in the industry.

Pros

+ Great company culture - employees help each other instead of competing for attention. Everyone works towards the project goals. + Leadership knows what they are doing and actively listen to staff. + Unified vision of projects with openness to critique, in most cases. + Great location, Cary is a wonderful town that fits the unique culture of Red Storm well. + Very inclusive and friendly

Cons

- Design team sometimes has difficulty listening to criticism of their work. They will hear it attentively and then choose not to implement changes, even if they are hearing it from multiple sources. Not always but happened a few times at least. - Salary is a bit underwhelming for both the role and area - Being under Ubisoft's umbrella has perks, but it also comes with significant downsides. They fall victim to the shortsightedness of Ubisoft shareholders and are underutilized as a studio of extremely talented individuals. Nearly all of the criticisms of Red Storm could be boiled down to Ubisoft mismanagement, and not problems with the studio itself.
