Pros
It’s a job and that’s valuable in this economy. Department co-workers are helpful and pleasant to deal with for the most part.
Cons
I’ve worked in environments with high expectations before, but I had the proper resources to meet them. In this role, however, the expectations are just as high—if not higher—without the necessary support. The internal documentation could be much more comprehensive, and the overall structure feels disorganized. The company is run by two wealthy engineers who seem out of touch with the realities of day-to-day operations. At year-end, the pressure to deliver results is relentless, creating an extremely stressful environment filled with micromanagement and unreasonable demands. On top of that, the department supervisor is completely disconnected from the team’s reality, adding unnecessary stress and making the workplace feel more like a boot camp than a professional environment. The engineering team, in particular, has been a major frustration. Instead of efficiently resolving tickets, they often send them back asking for additional information, creating unnecessary back-and-forth and delays. It’s been one of the most difficult teams I’ve ever worked with. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this role—it lacks proper support, effective leadership, and a functional process for getting things done.
