Benefits Operations is a mess - Insurance Operations Analyst Rippling Employee Review

Pros

Fairly good pay, remote work flexibility

Cons

Terrible management, lots of micromanaging. At the same time, managers are brand new and have no authority/willingness to get their hands dirty and solve problems for their team. There are HUGE communication issues that have been raised for years with no solution. Every time you bring up a systemic issue with managers, they have no idea what to do about it other than bring it to their manager. Then we hear nothing. Career growth is abysmal. We've been told for almost 2 years that "career progression" documentation was coming and it never does. There are very unfair (possibly illegal) hiring and promotion practices that rely strongly on favoritism. No work life balance and job descriptions are not accurate. People are hired as EDI Analysts and then do a customer service role nearly full time. It's very strange to hire people to do one job and then ask them to do something entirely different. Most people are doing the work of 3 different jobs and are expected to work insane overtime.

Pros

I have only been at Rippling for a month at this point, but so far so good! The onboarding and training are top tier. Definitely the best and most in depth training I have gotten at a company. My manager is great and was also an IC at Rippling for a couple years before moving into management which I really like because they understand what it is like to be an account manager here. There seems to be a lot of opportunity for career growth here. I am definitely excited to be here!

Cons

Not really a con but you HAVE to be self sufficient here. People are willing to help but they are also very busy so it might be a while before you get a response to a question. It was an adjustment at first but I think it makes you a better employee. If you need hand holding probably not the job for you. I don't really have any true cons yet, but ask me again in 6 months lol.
