Pros

Not many besides people trying to help each other on the team and management doesn't know what the left and right hand is doing. No transparent communication cross-department. No top to bottom communication from top management to bottom rung on the ladder.

Cons

Career Growth in engineering is awful. Not given equipment to do your job properly. The environment is toxic and led in the wrong direction. The location in Framingham will be axed at some point because they got bought by the parent company and office in NY.

Pros

It is a small business with some very nice people. The engineering process is very free form with very little planning, specifications and management. If you come from a top heavy Agile managed environment, you may like that. This sector of product (physical security) has a low level expectation in terms of technological solutions, which means that new ideas can create a significant advantage in the market place - there is opportunity to change the landscape of security in some ways. That's always interesting.

Cons

Lots of people leaving. You'll see many jobs openings now. Engineers are leaving because the place is a circus. A single person is deciding the direction of all of engineering without consulting the engineering leads. Decisions are made on Friday night over scotch between 2 people...you see the picture. Small bonuses, no equity. The worst place I ever worked at, for sure. I hate to even make such a review. But if it can prevent someone else from making the same error I made of getting in there, working hard … only to get stone walled by non-technical issues, it will have been worth it.
