Pros

Exceptional benefits package. Above average job security. Some very talented people to work with. Interesting and challenging problems to work on. The opportunity to work with some of the worlds greatest companies.

Cons

Zero opportunity for advancement, zero career path. If you are not in HQ your access to some of the Cary perks are limited (though the benefits package is still excellent). It is very difficult to find a job that does not require extensive travel outside of HQ. Pay is moderate by comparison. There is no link between performance and pay. If you are exceptionally talented (depending upon your manager), you'll end up having the bulk of work from your department dumped in your lap. The best people tend to leave for organizations that provide better opportunities.

Pros

Benefits: health coverage, on-site gym, childcare, healthcare center, and more. Work-life balance: predictable hours, flexibility for parents and a culture that doesn't expect you to grind 60-hour weeks.

Cons

Compensation lags the market, slow career advancement and promotions can take years. Change-resistant culture and new ideas move slowly. Leadership team manages up to just one person.
