Pros
Benefits for schooling have been my favorite pro. Samtec was able to pay for my degree and certifications outright, which helps open up more opportunities in my career. I've also had many opportunities to learn new skills and gain experience in my field. I never really feel dread when coming into work, like with previous work environments. Work life balance is great, everyone is fairly relaxed.
Cons
Biggest con for me is the pay structure. Pay is good, but I do not like deferred payments and would like to be able to receive the entirety of my pay on the paycheck, not in a windfall. This makes it difficult to be able to live independentally. Circling back to one of my pros, the environment can be too relaxed sometimes, often leading to attendance issues for a certain type of worker. The company also has too much of a corporate lifestyle for me, reminds me of high school pep rallies where it's too forced and sometimes distracting. Another con is the nepotism in some areas of the company, from what I've heard. I haven't experienced this personally, but have seen it happen to others. If there are issues with someone, there really doesn't seem to be much of an accountability involvement. It is more like a slap on the wrist everytime causing a relapse to the same exact issue. This could just depend on the management in each case.
