Pros

It is definitely a beautiful place to work in the south end of Santa Rosa County.

Cons

Each principal of each school is able to not renew a teacher's annual contract every year without warning, cause, or accountability. The pay in Santa Rosa County is lower than the surrounding counties (Okaloosa or Escambia). Professional Development opportunities at Holley Navarre Primary within the county are awarded to teachers by a lottery type drawing of those who submit their names as interested.

Pros

Admin is wonderful and pours into each employee, as they do the students. They listen, help, and guide. Working with children is rewarding and being a part of the Guidance Office allows you to make a difference for students and their families. Not to forget, summer, fall, Christmas, and spring break off!

Cons

Compensation is not a livable wage - especially if your household doesn't include dual earners. Being paid monthly is very challenging and requires advanced planning for fund allocation and discipline. Don't love starting work at 6:45 am, despite enjoying being off by 2:15 pm.
