Pros

The people who work there are nice.

Cons

The culture the CEO has created is one of obsessive micromanagement, which is most likely due to the constraints the clients have on "needing to see what they are paying for" While understandable from a small business standpoint it doesn't work in SEO because what it leads to is worthless busy work. Tasks for the sake of doing tasks so the client can see that "something" is being done. The removal of freeform Rocks says everything about how this CEO sees their employees. They are cogs to make him money.

Pros

I was fortunate enough to work at SearchLab. John Barrett was a great SEO Team Lead. I recall having a problem with one of my clients, but he assured me it was part of the process and encouraged me to learn which gave the motivation to work harder on the clients I had control of. The team was helpful and leadership is heading in the right direction with Sean and Andrew. The workload is manageable as long as you organize well. If you fall behind team members are willing to help. I had no problem getting PTO when it was needed as long as my work was finished ahead of time. I loved the transparency from the company and the bonuses offered despite my short time at SearchLab. You will work with clients and also work on the technical side, but your team lead will help guide the meetings and guide you on reporting. They provide a lot of opportunities for growth and encourage you to learn. I wish I could have stayed longer with SearchLab, but I received an offer from another company that was hard to say no to. SearchLab was understanding and I left on great terms. I wish them nothing but the best and hope they keep growing!

Cons

No real cons besides updating training practices which they are heading towards.
