Pros

The people: Despite the challenges, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing people. I developed lifelong friendships with many of my colleagues.

Cons

Poor Communication: Frequent restructures with minimal explanation (at least 5 restructures in the 4 years I was here...) Neglected Culture: Liz's first address to the company when she became CEO "This is a people company, and the people come first", She did exactly ZERO team-building efforts or incentives for growth and almost immediately started laying people off. Ineffective Leadership and Lack of Accountability: The CEO’s promises of prioritizing employees were not reflected in her actions. Instead, there were continuous cutbacks, the hiring of her own circle of former colleagues, and a complete lack of accountability for the company’s negative direction. Rather than taking responsibility, Liz frequently blamed the company’s struggles on macroeconomic factors. Directionless Leadership: SH/FT used to be a successful email marketing agency, and somehow made a transition to a confused marketing consultancy? Consistent gap between sales and service experts, I truly don't think the sales team knows what the service experts actually do, and the constant loss and lack of new business shows. Below-Market Salaries: Compensation often 20% below industry standards, good luck getting a decent title too, SH/FT learned that good titles means poached talent. Morale at Rock Bottom: Did someone say pizza party? No. even pizza parties aren't offered here... Moral couldn't be lower, and I don't think there's a way it can be saved. Short-sighted Decisions: Leadership’s focus on potential new accounts at the expense of nurturing existing ones meant the loss of several key accounts. This company used to have multiple 7+ figure retainers, and I doubt any are left at this point.

Pros

Lots of room to create your own structure and process. Respectful that employees are people. The organization actually cares about DEI, operationally, not just as lip service. Tons of opportunity for learning. Thoughtful CEO, who communicates clearly.

Cons

It is a difficult industry space for an org to enter, and I don't know anyone who does full service consultancy + agency particularly well. If you're gritty and you like creating your own structure, this can also be a pro.

Pros

You will be a fool to seek any pros here. It's not a decent workplace for people who want clear boundaries and hope to enjoy some work-life balance. These awful people will never respect the lines you draw.

Cons

The work expectations were ridiculously high. Employees were expected to be available 24/7, work on multiple projects, and meet client expectations while balancing poorly assigned deadlines. It was a struggle to show up every day when you knew they expected too much from you. It was exhausting to try to reason with the arrogant leadership that did nothing but pile horrible expectations. They also didn't give me enough room to grow. My learning stopped, and I was doing boring work for months. There was no career growth, either. Overall, it was a horribly frustrating experience, and I escaped before I could be trapped here for long.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that you felt overwhelmed and unsupported during your time with us. Your feedback about workload expectations, work-life balance, and development opportunities is taken seriously. We recognize that unrealistic deadlines and unclear boundaries can lead to burnout, and this is not the environment we want to create. Our new leadership is working to actively address these issues. Again, thank you for the feedback.
