Pros
We've got some of the most motivated and hungry employees in all of Austin. While changes are occurring on a daily basis, this strong team is able to weather the storm, jumping head in and creating positive change. I am so proud of this team. Beyond that, benefits are very giving. There are the the everyday perks, like music in the office, Topos in the fridge and monthly happy hours, which is great. There is also an atmosphere of trust and transparency that can ALWAYS be strengthened; however, it is currently very strong. The CEO is so genuine and giving; he is learning the ropes and just letting his gut guide him. I am so lucky to be able to work with him. The diversity at our company is also astounding. Our two current VPs are both female, which is unheard of in Austin. As a female, this is so encouraging to see that the tone at the top comes from two other strong females. Beyond that, our VPs are extremely bright, strategic and empathetic to their teammates. They are working both on a high level and in the trenches to grow this business.
Cons
I'd say this company is not for those who are looking for a run of the mill, clock in-clock out situation. Every individual is asked to go above and beyond everyday for the company. People who just want their foot in the door to learn startup world may be very perplexed by the amount of change expected from a startup.
