Pros

I can confidently say working at SocialMadeSimple (SMS) been a career-changing experience. They work hard but provide an enjoyable working experience during the process to provide great results for clients. The culture has an emphasis on collaboration and creativity. It's an environment where every team member feels valued and motivated. The leadership team is not just focused on the bottom line; they genuinely care about the well-being and professional growth of each employee. SocialMadeSimple recognizes and rewards hard work. The company offers employee-gifted bonuses, competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement. I see myself staying at SMS for a long time!

Cons

Some client expectations are difficult to meet. But that is typical at any advertising agency.

Pros

I know the recent string of reviews paint a bad picture, but keep in mind the company executed layoffs so what should we expect to see here? I was laid off in 2024 and never left a review, but after seeing the recent feedback I felt like it was time to provide a cooled-off perspective. Overall, my experience while with SMS (for a few years) was very positive. I've worked a few other places and can say confidently that SMS made a real effort to prioritize employee well-being. The weirdest thing about these recent reviews is that while actually employed here, I rarely heard people complain about the employee experience. A few things of note that I liked: - Unlimited PTO (it's legitimate and probably even overused) - Peer-to-peer rewards system - Certification bonuses - Remote work (they gave out remote work stipends)

Cons

- Performance. The company just hasn't performed in a long time so obviously business is suffering. - Accountability. Too many team members abused remote work and it was frustrating to have some people contribute significantly more to performance than others. - Leadership team. The CEO was just about never heard from and this always felt weird to me, especially as business was struggling. Makes it hard to truly trust what they're doing at all times.
