Part Time Summer Work - Custodial Worker Spring Arbor University Employee Review

Pros

The work is exceptionally simple, the day starts early and ends early, all in all a good little summer gig for extra money.

Cons

You're typically set up with a full time custodial worker that essentially supervises your day to day work, at times this can feel excessive with micromanaging - but then again you volunteered to work a minimum wage job cleaning an empty campus for the summer. Lunch breaks are 30 minutes and unpaid which feels like it was someones good idea fairy to save costs by ensuring that you saved costs by not paying that precious thirty minutes for someone to eat after being on your feet for hours.

Pros

I work as a remote, adjunct professor of social work. The department is great and supportive. I really enjoy working there.

Cons

Being remote leaves me a bit less connected to other faculty, but their monthly meetings really help with this.
