Pros
I'm proud to be part of the Storefront product team. The leadership team respects the work we do and we have quite a bit of freedom to make the best decisions we can when it comes to the product. Also, the team is very knowledgable and every person is able to contribute in a meaningful way. One of the coolest things about working for Storefront is that because we are spread across different continents (currently France and the US), there's a lot of emphasis put on staying connected with our colleagues. From daily standup calls over video to company-paid off-sites (most recently Lisbon, Portugal), the company has shown they are willing to invest the time and money into making sure the team stays connected and communicates well.
Cons
Working at any VC-funded startup can be stressful, and Storefront is no different. The communication from the leadership team is often too infrequent to give the team much comfort, motivation, or guidance, and there often seems to be a double standard applied to the different teams across the company that I think is primarily responsible for the high turnover in the non-tech roles.
