Pros

You might just make international news! The pay is good, but you’ll soon find out why. Glad to have made it out safely. TPC Group faces $514,692 in fines from OSHA and is accused of three willful violations — the most severe and rare category used by the agency — after OSHA concluded its investigation into the November 27, 2019 plant explosion in Port Neches, Texas. On-site cafeteria has a salad bar.

Cons

Two major explosions have manifested in the past 2 years. Google TPC Port Neches to see a distillation tower getting launched into lower orbit. Very impressive. Second major explosion in the RD / QC lab in Houston. The lab relocated to a log cabin.

Pros

TPC is great to their employees. Despite being a petrochemical company, they are flexible on hybrid wfh arrangements and value growing their employees skills.

Cons

They hire a lot of contractors. Not so bad a thing, but it can make it hard to become an employee

Pros

A technically demanding, stable employer with good pay and strong frontline people — with engaged workers on the frontline.

Cons

A technically demanding, stable employer with good pay and strong frontline people — but challenged by aging assets, heavy workloads, and uneven leadership effectiveness resulting from infighting at and above the director level.
