Pros

Good to feel like you're doing something good. Residents very sweet for the most part (one said she saw ghosts moving around in my car which scared me for weeks but was ok overall). Easy enough job after you get settled.

Cons

There can be some staff drama. Had some issues with employers getting upset over too many hours. Can be a bit morbid; had a few residents die while there. Need to be very patient with residents.

Pros

It was interesting and fulfilling taking care of the residents and talking with them about all sorts of things because they really had the wisdom. I would talk with them as often as I could because I could tell they were lonely and didn't get that treatment from my coworkers. It was a good balance between being on your feet and sitting at the desk waiting for call lights.

Cons

they were severely understaffed like most places like this. Often times we had at most 2 people working each floor (which was also the minimum number of people). We were lucky if the nurse was even on one of the 3 floors for assisted living because they would often be called away to memory or health care.

Pros

Good hours worked with school.

Cons

Didn’t hire staff that would show up consistently .
