Pros

1. Great culture, company leadership care about the progress and development of their employees and enjoy providing opportunities to improve. 2. Great place for new just graduated college students. You will get to apply the basics you have learned in school immediately, and also be challenged to learn new concepts. 3. Great place for those wanting to develop a skill. Basically if you want to do it, Thrive will do its best to give you the opportunity. If you start in shipping and want to learn about supply chain, odds are, if you work hard you'll get the opportunity to work in Supply Chain. 4. Strong desire to improve employee benefits. The benefits at Thrive aren't the stuff of legends, but the company leadership makes it a little better every year. They're smart business men and don't take large risks, while that can be annoying for those who would like better benefits now.

Cons

1. A little to much emphasis on loyalty over experience. Don't get me wrong, one of the pros of Thrive is the opportunities they provide their employees, and I am one of those people who have been given many opportunities due to my loyalty to the company. But, because of this loyalty over experience approach to business means that some who aren't ready for positions of power are in those positions. Many times these people don't have any experience other than the experience they've garnished from working hard at Thrive, which means there is only one perspective of doing things which can be damaging to establishing correct procedures. 2. Struggling to transition from a startup company to a full sized company. The Thrive executive team still operates as if they're a start up, and the company has grown to large for them to do so. They have hired some amazing middle management talent in the past and present, however, those individuals talents are stiffed because they're not given the freedom to make important decisions, because the executives still keep all of that control with them. 3. Employee investment. While the culture is great, and the executives really care about their employees, they do so more in word than in deed. They will compliment and say amazing things about their employees, which you can tell they honestly mean it, and this honest and genuine caring for their employees is what gets people to stay for long periods of time. But, this is a business, which means that good words need to be complimented by fair pay. Thrive is usually very under the market value for most of their positions.

Pros

Schedule was good for me, 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off. I think we got double pay on holidays. It was 12 hour shifts. We got an hour lunch, unpaid. Fair work/life balance. Good pay, fairly easy job. Good atmosphere. Understanding management.

Cons

Lots of cliques and drama. When I worked there people would not show up a lot so work load was hard. No air conditioning in dishwasher area and other areas where it was very hot in the summer, some people almost passed out. Not much time to change clothes if switching from extreme cold to hot environment or vice versa, and fans weren't allowed in hot areas. Management definitely had favorites. It could have change since I worked there, they said they were working on it. Don't really promote from within. They constantly hired managers from outside of company even though people that had been there for years applied for open management positions.
