Pros

I joined Ticketer in late 2023 and was excited to join a team doing some really interesting work, with a great product. I found the dev and QA team very friendly and welcoming, if not a little unloved by the rest of the company. The other parts of the business again were very friendly towards me

Cons

It became very apparent, very quickly i had joined a business that was trying its best, but failing in a few areas and from reading the other reviews it has got much worse. The core people that run Ticketer seemed unwilling to change, and were very sceptical of the abilities of the development department. They already had a very competent Dev Manager in place who I found to be excellent, but also weirdly had the ex Dev Manager working for them as a contractor which made things quite awkward. I unfortunately was put on gardening leave after only being at the company for 8 weeks as it turned out they had hired me at a time when a £large hole in finances had been discovered. It was a very traumatic time for me

Pros

There are some genuinely capable people across the business, and many colleagues care deeply about doing good work. The product and customer base also have real potential, and there are opportunities to learn if you are proactive and willing to work across different areas.

Cons

The culture has become increasingly difficult. There is a noticeable gap between how the company presents itself and how it feels to work there day to day. Career progression is limited, even for people who consistently deliver, take ownership and go above what is expected of them. There is also a lack of visible, consistent leadership. The CEO often feels absent from key issues, and senior decision-making can feel disconnected from the reality experienced by teams on the ground. The COO in particular appears to have a very different view of the organisation from the one many employees experience. Good performance does not always seem to translate into recognition, support or progression. In some cases, taking responsibility and doing the right thing can lead to more pressure rather than more opportunity. This creates frustration and a sense that effort is not fairly rewarded. The business would benefit from more honest leadership, clearer career pathways, better communication and a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed rather than treated as a problem.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are pleased to hear your positive comments about the capability of our people and the potential of our product and customer base. These are areas we are proud of and continue to invest in. We are sorry to hear that your experience of the culture and leadership has not been as positive. Creating an environment where colleagues feel supported, recognised, and able to progress is important to us, and we acknowledge that we still have work to do to ensure this is consistently experienced across the business. In particular, we recognise the importance of clear career pathways, visible leadership, and open, honest communication. These are ongoing areas of focus, and we are actively working on strengthening how we support development, recognise performance, and ensure feedback is heard and acted upon at all levels. We also take your comments on leadership visibility and alignment seriously. It is important to us that decision-making reflects the experiences of our teams, and we are continuing to look at how we can improve communication and connection across the organisation. We appreciate you highlighting these challenges, as well as the opportunities. Feedback like this helps us improve, and we remain committed to creating a culture where people feel valued, supported, and able to do their best work. If you would be open to sharing further detail, we would welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation directly.
