Pros

The only people that ever leave Torchmate are the ones that don't play well with others. It is like a family. Everyone is treated with respect. The turnover rate is less than 5% since its inception. That alone tells you that the employee's are happy. The compensation package is one of the best in Reno and bonuses are awarded based on performance.

Cons

The recession took its toll on the company just like it did throughout the US. Management downsized and got lean. Everyone had to pull together and work hard for the last two years. We seem to be through it now and are busier than ever. We need to hire more people quickly.

Pros

Friendly Staff. Good Human Resources Department. Good Communication between departments. Most weekends off. A decent benefit package. Central location with ease in commute access, close to Airport, Casinos, and Downtown Reno. Lunch is provided daily to all employees, provided that you eat at your desk, and seasonal morale boosting events occur spontaneously. CEO is usually away from office.

Cons

Management's "Open Door" policy, isn't. Leadership lacks Direction and clear Focus. Management relies on their staff's ability to multi-task in order to keep costs down. Research & Development Department is at mercy of Micro-Management, and has no Engineering Degrees on payroll. Sales Team works on a fixed salary with no incentives or commission schedule to bolster a team members profitability. Management does not encourage cross training, nor any personal development to strengthen the team. The empowerment to do what's right is more often discouraged than applauded. A general lack of communication between management and staff harbors confusion and resentment. Management tends to throw money at a problems, rather than to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve them.
