Pros

There is absolutely nothing good about this place

Cons

I spent a little under a year at this place and it is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked at. The work environment is stressful to the point where your in tears because of the workload. This place does not value any of its employee and the pay sucks more than that. Management never does anything to help out, they will in turn make your life miserable if you mess up on the tiniest things and they will also blame it on you even if its not your fault. Management makes a lot of mistakes and still finds a way to blame it on you. Management also has the habit of listening in on their employees personal conversations with each other and then have meetings about what is being said in the most unprofessional manner. Overall Management and the work atmosphere sucks. And if your ever come into work after 8am, you will not get promoted or get a raise, even if you live far and if you live far, its not worth the money or how miserable you actually will be. Another thing about this place, the work load is soo heavy that, things can't be done in the right way. Everyone takes short cuts to get things done on time. Even to the extent of making up data because there isn't enough time to get everything done. There have been many occasions when one person gets stuck doing 4 or 5 different things (usually the biggest studies) and their times all overlap. You look at your manager and say it can't happen, only to hear, well make it happen. Study directors are just plain miserable to the point where they could almost care less about anything and if you ever have a problem with one of their studies and call them, they will snap at you (and that is, if they are having a good day). This place doesn't care about anything, their employees and their animals. Have seen things and heard about other incidents and no corrective action is taken, instead there is always a cover up in place. You have to fight tooth and nail to get anything done in this company. If you want to move up, you have to be best friends with your manager, who will then give you a 20% raise, even if you worked there only for 6 months and do nothing all day, whereas you have employees who are there for 4-5years and are not given huge raises like that ever, because your manager does not like you and if you are in a certain department, might be a bit racist, because it seems no one of other ethnicities can actually get any other their trainings signed off of by a their managers. Some advice to someone who is looking into this company, skip it... its a waste of time just applying for it.

Pros

I felt the need to point out some of the ridiculous and erroneous complaints being posted here about Toxikon. 1. Pay. Lets start out by saying that I will bet that the majority of pay complaints on here come from people who think Toxikon is like big Pharma, with big Pharma money. The truth is, we are NOT Pharma. We don't have a drug pipeline. We help Pharma companies bring their products to market. As a result, we have a few low pay complaints. If you work hard, you will be rewarded. 2. Employee turnover. A good majority of folks who work here are straight out of college. Tell me of another company that takes a chance and provides a career to a young person without much seat time? Toxikon trains all of their people, and if someone leaves to pursue another opportunity, so what? It happens everywhere all the time. 3. Data issues. The business that Toxikon is in, is heavily regulated. When I say heavily, I mean, heavily. We work with Federal agencies, as do any other CRO or Pharma company. So, if some people say that data is compromised, I don't believe it. 4. BSC's not OSHA compliant? The lab I work in has a BSC. It looks compliant to me. The annual certification is up to date, and it works fine. The Health & Safety Department here know their stuff, and would obviously have a "non-compliant" BSC addressed.

Cons

Like any other company, you will have petty complainers and folks you just don't care for.
