Pros

Interesting product with some great features and big customers. Great team.

Cons

I will share my (bad) experience since I haven't spend much time in the company. I got hired after a 2-month hiring procedure (many delays), so I left my previous job in order to join Transifex. 7 days after my official hiring, me and other colleagues got fired because of staff cuts. I was informed that a funding that the company were expecting never came. I was't told about the risk of this funding round during the hiring procedure. It was totally unprofessional to hire without having ensured the budget for those hirings.

I wanted to write a note to share my personal apology for what happened. You have every right to be very upset with us. I can only imagine how unexpected, shocking and disappointing this was to you — especially since you just left another job for us. This was ultimately my responsibility and I want to personally apologize for putting you in this difficult position. Our team is at your disposal to help you in your next steps in any way, including forwarding your resumé and discussing with potential employers to share this wasn't a performance-based termination. In fact, we as a company performed poorly. The severance package was the least we could do to recognize the above and help your position. Lastly, thank you for sharing your interest in the product and your excitement for our team. Dimitris Glezos Founder & CEO

Pros

Transifex has an established business from years of work on our TMS for localization, but is also leading the industry in innovation for use of AI. It's exciting to get to work somewhere with this continuous innovation. The team is large enough that you're not on your own, but also small enough that you can have a real impact. It's a remote first company and I like working from home, getting to skip the commute. The culture is also great with some of the most supportive, helpful coworkers I've ever had.

Cons

Almost all regular company communication is done over Slack. It can be a great tool for a remote first company, but with so many messages on so many channels, it can be challenging to go back and find information after you initially have read it.

Hm, well, they are growing so some pains are inevitable.
