Pros

Nice colleagues, they try enforce the whole 'fun place to work' thing which is always better than working.

Cons

You're not being paid enough for the amount of constant issues and tasks you have to do. 5PM on a Friday the guests come in, you've got properties that haven't been cleaned, boiler's not working, people just being difficult that are calling to moan at you. Suppliers and contractors are nowhere to be seen because it's 5PM on a Friday, you're in constant communication with angry guests and you're operating on a tiny workforce because everyone else has finished for the day. Constant calls coming in. Fair enough, the company has a friendly attitude and all of these 'family' activities but at the end of the day, we're at work because we need money to survive and enjoy things with our families. It doesn't equate to the amount of stress you're put under.

Pros

I’ve really valued my time at Travel Chapter. It’s a business that is constantly evolving and isn’t afraid to embrace change at pace, which keeps things interesting and forward-looking. There’s a genuine focus on the future, from the way the business is growing to the emphasis on charity partnerships and the communities it works with. What stands out most, though, is the people. There are so many talented, supportive and genuinely great individuals across the business, and that makes a huge difference to the day-to-day experience. There’s a real sense that the company is trying to do the right thing by its people, even when navigating periods of change. Like any organisation going through transformation, that pace of change can sometimes create challenges or pressure points, and not everything always lands perfectly first time. But overall, it’s a business with good intent, strong values, and a lot of people who care deeply about what they do. Brilliant people and supportive colleagues Clear sense of purpose and community focus Opportunities to get involved in change and shape the future

Cons

Fast pace of change can be challenging at times Things can feel a bit unclear during periods of transition

Pros

I’ve worked in quite a few companies over the years, and it’s easy to think the grass might be greener somewhere else. But honestly, Travel Chapter is a decent place to work. It’s not perfect, and there are things that could be better but that’s the same anywhere. The big difference is the people. They’re genuinely kind, supportive and try to do the right thing (very different to other experiences I’ve had), and to be fair you can see things are improving which makes it feel like that’s moving in the right direction.

Cons

Some processes are still evolving and can feel inconsistent Ongoing change can sometimes create a lack of clarity Communication could be more joined-up at times
