Pros

Making an actual difference in public safety Good, ethical people to work with that really care about the work they do. Decent pay for the work being done Routine travel all around the world (if you want to) Recently started growing significantly, which should bring more opportunity for personal growth in the company

Cons

Senior management seems to not understand the core process (although this is getting better now) Too many people promoted not on merit, but merely on years served and people they know

Pros

- The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

Cons

- Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.
