Pros
An honest opinion
After reading some of the other reviews, I thought I would chime in. I've noticed a lot of positive change at URAC recently. There are a great number of wonderful people working here. I do understand where the other reviewers are coming from.
Pros:
At long last, we have a generous telework policy.
I am usually able to "leave work at work" unlike many people I know at other organizations.
People are, for the most part, very friendly. They will go out of their way to help you.
Silos are breaking down. If I need to talk to someone about an issue I can do that without their manager getting snitty. (This was a BIG problem before.)
Lower level salaries are generous.
Benefits are good. 401k is good.
Human Resources staff are friendly and helpful.
I appreciate the regular updates on organizational goals.
Cons
Sometimes, I feel like we have too many chiefs and not enough indians. Positions frequently go unfilled, and those responsibilities get scattered among other staff.
Policy decisions are made, then un-made, then re-made, without alerting the front line staff. People get left scrambling. Nobody likes to run from fire to fire.
Mid level salaries are low.
Advancement opportunities are hard to come by, but some of that is to be expected at a smaller organization.
There are a few sour apples.
Remote staff do not always feel included.
