Camaraderie with fellow officers. Respect and thankfulness from people when outside of base in uniform. discounts for skiing lift tickets, amusement parks, etc. Free checked bag usually for airlines in America. An opportunity to serve.
Cons
Inflexibility in a huge, huge organization. Lack of personal feel from AFPC, the HR branch of the AF that assigns you to your new job every 4 years. A broken system for performance reviews that requires you to "play the game."
