Pros

Powerful Computer and Agency Management System (also a downfall), they have access to several insurance carriers and markets;,talented front line producers and support staff, tools that allow employees to access and work remotely on business trips, weekends and nights. State of the art computer systems that allow very detailed production reports.

Cons

Constant stress, this company thrives on everyday pressure on every employee. When I was there I felt stress everyday. I was constantly worried, anxious and upset with my branch manager. There is no long term investment in front line producer's development. There is open hositality from middle management to frontline employees. They have no interest in seeking feedback from employees and don't even listen to constructive criticism from their customer base, insurance agencies. The accounting department and it's employees are rude to customers and contracted agents. The company is too depedent on their computer system (albeit powerful and detailed) and had an inability to think outside the box if a deal does not fit the computer system. There is open hostility between the home office in PA and the regional offices as the middle managers just scream at employees, literally employees and managers would scream at each other in the branch offices.

USG Insurance Services has always strived to create a culture of education, participation, and success for its employees. We agree that insurance is a relationship driven business, but cannot discount the impact that technology has had in the transformation of our industry and the talent that exists in it. The system is designed to create efficiencies and access to information, making the sales process more comprehensive and beneficial. We spend a great deal of time on training and impactful discussions to enhance our workflows and systems. While we find this former employee's experience disappointing, we will use it as a reminder to continue on the path of our continued success and growth through training and enhancement to the information provided to our staff; noting that we have found the dependency on systems over people to not exist in other reviews, nor in the method in which we encourage the role our staff plays in the sales process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we respect that not every experience will be the same, we do want to clarify a few points. We have a structured and comprehensive onboarding program, including an extensive first week of training where expectations, compensation structure, and performance goals are clearly outlined. This is followed by ongoing support through periodic check-ins, as well as continued access to training resources and mentorship from leadership and experienced team members. We also want to emphasize that we genuinely care about our team members and their success, and we strive to provide the tools and support needed to help them grow. Expectations around ramp-up periods, production, and compensation are communicated upfront and reinforced throughout employment. Our goal is to ensure individuals have clarity and support at every stage. We take feedback seriously and continuously evaluate our processes, but it’s important to ensure that information shared reflects the structure and support that are in place. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
