Pros
* Great Benefits. * Gain Good Experience with access to unlimited trainings and sales tools\ * Diversity - (at least in my experience in Chicago) * Free Cell Phone Service for employees, and $15 a month for family.
Cons
* Constant Stress: Dealing with customers and management can take its toll. * Perpetual Meetings: Get ready to bash your head in, meetings, meetings, and more meetings. 95% of them are completely useless and simply waste your time. * Brainwashing: The meetings serve one purpose and that's to brainwash employees into gulping the kool-ade, and reinforce the fear factor that keeps employees here. * Weird Religious Jargon and Culture: A few years back they called employees CRUSADERS for US Cellular. The company slogan is "BELIEVE in something better." The plans are called BELIEF plans. * Commission Changes: Every year for seven years the payout on commissioned transaction has diminished, add that to a weak economy and you're making 1/4 the money, and working 3 times as hard. * Incompetent Management: Since the commission changes, many of the best sales employees left to other companies or moved up to management. A good sales employee does not necessarily translate into a good manager. * Callous Upper Management: Years ago an employee felt like upper management cared for each individual, those managers died, left or were fired. The new crew could care less for your well-being. They make employees feel like they're dispensable. What do you expect when the new CEO is a former McDonald's executive? * No Work-Life Balance: They will bleed you until you have no personal life. The needs of the business are GOD, and you must constantly accommodate at your own expense.
