Pros
Employee only health insurance is 100% covered, the ability to work from home (not actually remote because you are tethered to a docking station unless you can efficiently work from only your laptop screen, which most employees can't do)
Cons
Extremely low salaries, no real job growth opportunities, management is not helpful in terms of growth opportunities, suggestions, etc. We have not received raises in over 2 years and there is no sign that we will receive them in the future. The pay is barely a livable wage, especially with the current state of the economy. It's the equivalent of working customer service or at a restaurant, definitely low ball salaries for the majority of positions and they claim that it's because of the budget. Engineering, some analyst and upper management positions (VP, CFO, AVP, director, senior director, assistant director, manager, etc.) make livable wages, all other staff positions are grossly and insultingly underpaid and lowballed in terms of salary. If you are looking for work, avoid working here in terms of staff positions. Faculty might pay better (professors typically get a sign on bonus or a relocation payment).
