Pros

If you don't mind selling knives door to door and going to group meeting once a week, then go ahead. They take in anybody who can drive.

Cons

You're basically going door to door selling knives. The company is taking advantage of college students. Salary is NOT $17 per hour. It's $17 per appointment. An appointment can last up to 2 hours or more. Beware when you're advertising for the company, like putting out cards/flyers on people's cars, that's considered trashing and vandalizing. The cops stopped us several times and explained to us that we're not allow to do that. In fact, one of my colleagues got a ticket for that. The company gave out Cutco bucks, which was like vouchers for you to buy anything from Vector company. So, in a way, all your hard earned money would circulate back to the company. My ex-boss seems to believe that there is no better job than selling knives. He overwhelms us with how much money we can make from commission. He's also really condescending toward other job types like Starbucks empolyees and pizza deliverers. If you do end up taking the job. Please keep this in mind: you most likely start out selling knives to the people you know first, like your extended family, friends and co-workers. Most of the time they would buy your products because they feel bad for you. The turnover rate of employees is really high because people would soon realize this can be a dead end job. Cutco company knows this, that's why they primarily target college students because they're broke and willing to work. Cutco knows they will always have fresh college students coming in. There's no need to treat their employees right. So if you're seeing jobsfortudents.com, Vector Marketing or Cutco Cutlery on job boards some where. Be very careful to proceed!
