Fun but frustrating - Cabin Crew Virgin Atlantic Employee Review

Pros

Great travel perks, some great colleagues, good benefits package for healthcare, the sickness /long term sick scheme is great, but actually abused by so so many people.

Cons

The business very much views cabin crew as bottom of the pile, the crew management team are unqualified to manage individuals and complex circumstances, it’s dis organised and frustrating. If you’re a female with a young child you can pretty much get what you want (don’t get me wrong this is extremely progressive and great for working mothers) but as a male with family issues you are treated completely differently. The business as recent has dropped hiring standards completely, hiring many young new staff with poor work ethic and more interest in their social media profile than maintaining pillars of the brand. Promotion is given to those that volunteer time off and are friendly with management, rather than performance metrics.

Cons

A little too much traveling Pay needs to be higher Limited work support due to small teams Advancement options limited Due to the nature of Virgin being a luxury service, the customers can be rude and very pushy
