Pros

Honestly, I'm struggling to think of any significant pros. It's been more of a learning experience in what not to look for in a company. If you're asking about traditional 'pros' like work-life balance or growth opportunities, those haven't been my experience. To be frank, the cons have outweighed the pros in my time there. So, while it's certainly a job, I can't really recommend it.

Cons

In my experience, there have been some significant challenges. Personally, I've found it difficult to achieve a healthy work-life balance here. There seems to be a lack of consideration for employees' personal lives, and growth opportunities are limited. I've also observed a competitive environment that can sometimes feel…unsupportive. There's a sense of secrecy and a lack of transparency that makes it difficult to feel like part of a team. It's been a challenging experience, and I've found that loyalty isn't a strong suit. While I've brought a lot to the table, it hasn't always been appreciated. Specifically, I've noticed a tendency for information to be withheld, creating an environment where it's difficult to make informed decisions. There's also a noticeable inconsistency in how policies are applied, which can lead to feelings of unfairness. Furthermore, the communication channels are often unclear, resulting in misunderstandings and a lack of collaboration. I've also observed that the company prioritizes short-term gains over long-term employee development, which has impacted morale. In general, I’ve found that the internal culture can be quite isolating. Additionally, I've perceived a degree of uneven treatment, with certain individuals seemingly receiving preferential treatment. There's also a noticeable hierarchical dynamic, where some individuals project an air of superiority, which can contribute to a less than collaborative atmosphere.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our owners take pride in providing learning opportunities to help you advance in your career in the optometry and the optical industry. We encourage anyone with similar sentiments to share this feedback with your practice owner so it can be addressed at your specific practice location. Communication is key to a successful business and team, and each of our member practices strives to ensure that their employees feel they are on the same page with the direction of the practice and our network of practices as a whole. This feedback will help improve the employee experience across all of our member practices. As a network of practices focused on delivering high-quality patient eye care, this can sometimes result in long hours to provide such care. At each of our independently owned practices, our owners strive for wellness not only for patients, but their team members, too. We encourage anyone who feels similarly to visit with your owner if your schedule needs to be adjusted to provide a better work life balance. You were appreciated and we wish you success ahead.

Pros

If you like to always be late, call out all of the time, skate by doing the bare minimum, be part of constant drama, have unlimited write-ups, be insubordinate with no repercussions it’s great for you!

Cons

Management eggs on harassment, owner has no involvement with her employees, poor training, unfairness across the board. In the year I was there we went through 6 front desk girls. Turnover is outrageous. Going above and beyond will get you absolutely nowhere.
