Pros

- High degree of freedom to explore new ideas and projects while been funded as a research assistant - Flexible working time, just get all the things done before due dates and you can literally work at home 7 days a week - No risk of being fired if new ideas turn out to be not so good as expected - Tons of opportunities after granduation

Cons

- Poor training to the staff, do not expect the school staff always treat you well - Parking lot management is a nightmare - As a PhD student, there is no work-life balance in general here. Life is to work, and work for life

Pros

Can be pretty easy if most of your work is office hours. I had about seven hours a week and most of the time there weren't many students.

Cons

Grading was a lot harder than I expected. Pretty demoralizing honestly; a lot of clearly ChatGPT submissions (ECE programming class mostly with freshmen who'd never seen code before, so not surprising). Grading paper exams was fine.
