10ySTILL A GREAT COMPANY!
Great feedback here, though I tend to disagree with some of the stronger suggestions - especially the ones regarding ethics. As you know from being with us for over 3 years, we have a strong whistleblower mentality to our culture, and will not stand for anything less than ethical - having repeatedly demonstrated this time and again for our clients and team members alike by conducting investment and goodwill activities few companies would ever conceive of "giving away" to their clients.
Furthermore our clients are completely involved in our billing and review cycles, so they have final authority on what has value and what does not - and anyone who has been with us for more than 6 months fully understands that the final judge of "time entry" is the client directly - and that if you can't defend the time you entered, then be prepared to hear about it from your client - directly!
Full transparency internally and externally has always been the name of the game here at eGroup, so lying about time would be self-defeating from Day 1. And for the record, no one has ever been asked to work more than 40 hours a week - in fact our bonus has always been based on a 32-hour work week! With PTO that counts towards it!!
Though it's always possible that something occurred that made you feel "unethical" about your time-entry, what's more probable is something with respect to your schedule was miscommunicated or misunderstood as we refocused on service team delivery objectives through the second half of the year - which is an opportunity for improvement once we agree to the basic eGroup code of honor and embrace that no one should never be made to feel, or be put in, a situation that would cause them to lie, fabricate, or do anything less than ethical. If this ever occurs, blow the whistle! This has been repeated often at eGroup - and I have the emails to prove it!
If ever there is an instance where anything less than ethical occurs, or anything less than "100% right for the client" occurs, my door is open and the leadership team is fully committed.
Nevertheless, thank you for sharing - and I'm sure you've seen some significant steps taken on all fronts throughout Q4 2015 as we've continued to adjust to the services-based refocusing we set out to accomplish in early 2015.
I do understand that change isn't for everyone, and that at times in the journey, we must adjust to a path that may change the "rules of the road" somewhat. However, our mission is purposeful, and always communicated openly, and the choice is yours as to whether it is in harmony with your purpose and your destination in life. If not, we will gladly see you on, even cheer you on. We value honesty and engagement, not excuses and complaints - and we fully expect for the members of our team to be a part of the solution - in real-time.
As an eGrouper, we value the use of your active voice, and always fully embrace an open-door policy, so I would urge you to bring your actionable thoughts directly to your peer team and help contribute to the direct changes you wish to see to keep us getting better.
A great opportunity to create change is at the upcoming company meeting, where you can submit your questions directly (or anonymously if needed), and expect a thoughtful, accurate response and action from fellow eGroupers.
