  • Finally after two HR reps had left the company and a long talk with the Regional Manager at 8months I got hired in to the customer company full time (in 3 reviews)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, good clients, able to help people find jobs

    Cons

    No pay increases, and bonus structure is horrible

    I worked at Employment Plus full-time

    Pros

    Some of the people in other departments were nice and the office itself was new and clean.

    Cons

    There was no real training process for your position, just sitting next to someone and shadowing them. Then when it came time to do your job and you were missing steps in the process due to the lack of training you were blamed for the mistakes.

    Advice to Management

    Create more robust training programs for new employees

    Pros

    Decent work environment with reasonable autononmy

    Cons

    Problematical business plan that relied too heavily on low-margin business that left the company vulnerable to worker's comp shifts.

    Advice to Management

    Never give up!

    Pros

    It was a job. I wish I could say more.

    Cons

    I was deceived as to my pay. It was not the $16.32 an hour. I was also deceived about the fact that NIFCO does not hire full time employees. Employment Plus knew that very well and lied to me. I also complained to my boss that I believed I might have been discriminated against on account of my age and I am still considering a lawsuit over the damages they caused me.

    Advice to Management

    Stop deceiving people and you may want to call your attorney.

    I have been working at Employment Plus (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great opportunity to gain some entry level recruiting and office experience in the staffing industry. The work is easy to learn. You will increase your ability to multi-task.

    Cons

    There are times where you have to deal with individuals who are frustrated from being unemployed, have fallen on hard times, or just need a new job right away. If your people skills and assertiveness are not so good, you'll have a harder time adjusting.

    Advice to Management

    At this time, I have no advice to management. The company is expanding, processes are growing and changing, but employees are still treated as people and with respect.

    I have been working at Employment Plus (Less than a year)

    Pros

    They will let you work overtime, when they have work. They try to treat the good workers well.

    Cons

    They only have one client, International Paper. They lay people off when work gets slow, or when the person isn't a good worker, rather than terminating them. The BIGGEST drawback is that they only have one client, International Paper. The other major drawback is that Prologistix and Resources, Mfg. are their sister companies, and you can't work for either of them unless you end your assignment with Employment Plus.

    Advice to Management

    Diversify your client list, please! Also, when you lay off, refer your good workers to your sister companies for work until your work picks up!

    Pros

    Able to find a temporary job quickly after moving when money is tight

    Cons

    Not a lot of great job options if you're not looking for custodial work

    Advice to Management

    I understand that you do work with a lot of criminals, but you also stand in a position to help above average potential employees to find work. It doesn't help if you treat everyone you meet as untrustworthy.

    Cannot think of any pros.

    Cons

    They are happy to interact with you UNTIL you go in and verify and then put you on the roster -- after that, not so much. DId not return my calls after I left messages inquiring about certain jobs. At Employment Plus you are a number!

    4 day work schedule. Weekly pay.

    Cons

    Safety issues within workplace. 25 minute lunch break.
