The worst job with the worst pay with the worst managerial team is the true experience for most EOG workers.
Pros
The perks is they hire you on the spot without any real interviews, which should be your red flag to run.
Cons
There are too many cons to count. It's mind blowing. You pay for everything from your ID down to your shoes. EOG pays Birmingham worker less than Tuscaloosa. Yet, the Tuscaloosa team couldn't handle UA games without our help. You do the same job next to people who were hired under the same premises as you with lesser pay. Then, the men and women in black shirts aka administration don't care if you eat, have medical conditions, or any human sensibilities. They will make you work eight to twelve hours without breaks and lunches; thus, breaking major labor laws. This pass Iron Bowl I was asked to work from 4:15-6:45 pm. I got a call from the Birmingham aka the Black shirts about working the game for twelve hours with the verbal agreement of heading back to Birmingham after the kickoff. Did that happen? Of course not, they forced people to work until 12:30 AM. These managers got rude and crude because people were saying no about working beyond the AGREE hours. LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT--THIS JOB IS A PART TIME JOB FOR MOST OF THE WORKER. Many of us have other jobs with morning shifts. We have children and husband and careers beyond this part time gig. And so, yes, they forced people to work this Iron Bowl Game, and that's the right choice of words because EOG administration would not let us leave and board the bus. They bus you to and from the games, so you are stuck until the Black Shirts say bused can load up and pull off. YOU are stuck in the freezing cold while they stay warm in the COMMAND CENTER. So, if you like standing in 41 degrees weather without food and water and much supervision and respect for your humanity, then you'll love this job. Events Operation Group stole 24 hours of my life. On Saturday, this November 29, 2014, I was at their mercy from 4:15 am until Sunday 2:30 am. Did any of management apologizes to us. No. They gave us one Arby sandwich for 12-18 hour shifts. Did I mention that Birmingham makes $8.00 to the Tuscaloosa workers $10.00? Go to any fast food establishment for that kinda of change.
