Pros

Incredibly nice and supportive co-workers, you will not find many places like this nowadays.

Cons

Underpaid, High uncertainty, Awful coffee, Poorly designed office space, No clear career path for employee (dead end), Pay rise is pretty much impossible, High expectation for such a little remuneration package, Massive gap between the management and front line level, Failure to attract and keep talented people. Not ideal if you're seeking for stability, competitive salary, and career progression. However, if you are financially independent and want to be employed 40 hours a week for leisure then this might work for you.

Pros

- Great people, I was always happy to go to work, to see my colleagues. - The work itself gives you a good understanding of all types of entities and how they work, the deeds/agreements and people involed, for instance, companies, trusts, charities, incorporated societies, limited partnerships etc. - The work itself is not hard, there is a lot of supportive colleagues who will happily help you - Company weeded out the weaker workers that complained about doing the bare minimum, company started heading into the right direction. Company started adopting the work hard, play hard (again) which was great but... (see below)

Cons

Top performers are placed in the same basket as the bottom performers, remuneration is the same for the best and the worst, so what's the point in giving it your all? Management was great but turned incompetent at the 2nd half of 2022. After the redundancy round, company became understaffed. Ex-colleagues still currently employed with First AML complained about having to work unpaid overtime, team leaders having to work late at night to due to work stacking up. I watched First AML lose their best employees due to management overpromising, under delivering, not remunerating their best correctly and rewarding the leeches. The tools they use to measure performance is extremely flawed. I chatted to a few of the bottom performing employees who was rewarded/promoted (based on some metric on a software FAML uses) and even they didn't know why they got rewarded or promoted and even admitting to not doing anything and leaving the cases to other co workers to do. Those that keeps their head down and gets the most work done are ignored while the ones that leech off the hard workers don't have to do anything to get the same or better treatment than the hard working colleagues. Senior management manages the company from a high level approach and relies on software metrics which does not show the full picture and advice from team leaders on which colleague is performing well (when team leaders don't even have enough time to take care of the team due to high workload) resulting in the above.
