Pros

Schedule fit in well with my school schedule Nice coworkers Very diverse work environment?

Cons

Had to stand for hours in the heat with only one 30 minute break for lunch Pay starts pretty low and tips play a big role in how much you leave the season with, and highly depends on what food youre selling Understaffed i guess. A lot of the more skilled workers dont get paid enough considering how much work they do and the fact they have to live off of that money during the week

Not great

Pros

Decent seasonal work Some interesting customers, which can be pleasant It's only on weekends which is great if you're a full time student during the week and just need an extra pay check. Most of the other people working there are very nice.

Cons

Poor management for the most part. Most of the supervisors don't understand how the booths work, but will keep coming up with very asinine and inefficient ways to run the booths and then blame you when it's not working. They'll also become upset if you try to fix it yourself, regardless of the results. It can get incredibly hot. Do not underestimate the sun. At some booths you get 15 minute lunch breaks. Which is either just enough to catch your breath or down a snack assuming your brought one. Do not expect to be able to buy food there in that time, the lines can be bad.

An okay summer job

Pros

If you are in highschool and looking for a spring-summer job for some extra cash, it's a decent job. Depending on the people you end up working with, sometimes days are very fun and go by quickly. My manager was actually very kind to me and my team. Higher management is another story. It's only on the weekends also, so it doesn't interfere with school.

Cons

Working at the renfest these days feel very...carnival-esque. It doesn't feel like working in a beautiful medieval times setting anymore. I've worked seasonally for 5 years and every year gets more and more messy. The people that get hired here in games also tend to not give a care about customers or fellow team members, leaving randomly to go on a break when they feel like it. I honestly worked with 4 people in a season that I had to wonder how they got hired. I feel like this company has just stopped caring about both its workers and entertainers, because the performers as well seem to be miserable. The days are hot and long, sweaty and hard. The pay is okay for a teenager or side hustle. Though since they're open during tornado warnings or thunderstorms too, expect at least one weekend where youre getting up to work in a monsoon, depending on georgia weather.
