    I worked at Gradient full-time

    Pros

friendly and intelligent coworkers, healthy culture, great management

    Cons

I didn't mind, but some people might not want to work with certain industry clients, so it might not be a job for everyone. People looking for strategy consultant salary rates might also look elsewhere.

I have been working at Gradient full-time

    Pros

Supportive group of peers, flexible schedule

    Cons

Gradient has no coherent mission and is a lot of talk but no walk when it comes to support from upper management, mentorship, and equal access to opportunities. Success here largely depends on the alliances you form with principles. Pay is unequal throughout the company for staff at the same level.

I have been working at Gradient full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The principals (owners of the company) are generally interested in employees' concerns and willing to listen. The company culture is friendly, collaborative, and efficient. Project work is generally interesting. The technical staff are well-qualified and intelligent, the support staff are much better than industry average. People care about their work and treat eachother with respect.

    Cons

They currently (2016) seem more focused on increasing benefits rather than wages. The pro bono side of the consultancy is in its infancy and could use a shot in the arm.

    Advice to Management

Fewer benefit increases, higher wages. Develop pro bono consultancy.

I worked at Gradient full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, quarterly bonuses, good health insurance, they pay for your T pass, flexible schedule, good amount of PTO, relaxed work environment, really nice people, nice location in the middle of Harvard Square. I also found that there is very good chemistry between all the employees- the firm is small enough where you'll get to know almost everyone who works there, and they're all very friendly and approachable.

    Cons

Some managers are not as organized as others, which can lead to issues with how smoothly the project runs. But that's certainly not something that's unique to Gradient.

I have been working at Gradient full-time

    Pros

Located in the heart of Harvard Square. Work is interesting on short term projects, but tedious on longer projects. Coworkers are interesting, well-educated, and driven.

    Cons

The commute is difficult and time consuming if living outside a 5 mile radius. The PTO plan is poor. PTO allowance is inadequate for ALL time off (vacation, holidays, sick, and personal). Mangers are hands-off, but some are mostly absent several days during the work week ("working from home"). Office is quiet - too quiet sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Level the playing field for employees: give time-off consistent with other "best companies" in the area.
