    Pros

Enthusiastic and capable staff with plenty of industry standard resources

    Cons

All small companies move at an extremely fast pace. If this isn't what you're looking for, you'll be disappointed with the career opportunity.

    Advice to Management

    Keep Going

I have been working at Ignite Fueling Innovation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great retirement. Offers education and training incentives and reimbursements. Respected leadership with a plan for growth and opportunity.

    Cons

Government contracting is not for the weak at heart, transitions are driven by government awards. ALATEC does a good job of transitioning people out and is helpful to the employee for next steps of employment.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the improved communication pipelines!

I worked at Ignite Fueling Innovation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The company had decent benefits.

    Cons

Its a contracting company so notification of a job lose was minimal.

    Advice to Management

You need to have a better safety net for your contractors, Early notification of a pending contract loss would allow more time to prepare for a loss in income and find a future job.

    Pros

    - fair upper management
    - interesting projects to develop a career
    - good benefits (medical, vision, dental, tuition reimbursement, vacations, 401K plan...)

    Cons

    - projects only lasts for 9 months - 1 year.
    - no guarantee on job security.
    - too much politics among the middle management and employees.
    - employees argued a lot and even bad mouth each other.
    - need to network with middle management to get promotions.

    Advice to Management

    - promotion should be based on performance, not network.
-please ignore some employees saying bad things about others. Those bad things are mostly rumors.

    Pros

ALATEC is a small company and that helps a lot when it comes to being in touch with people higher up.

    Cons

ALATEC is a small company and that gives very little job security which is not nice. Although that helps in some other respects.

    Advice to Management

Try it out, ALATEC is better than some places I've worked at and no place is perfect. Give it a try.

"Terrible salaries and incompetent management make this a terrible place to work."

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

The company offers good benefits, including out of pocket health care cost reimbursement and a small amount of tuition reimbursement. It offers adequate opportunities to gain experience you can take to a better job. Upper level management is reasonably competent.

    Cons

Middle management is highly incompetent. Salaries are bottom of the barrel. Performance reviews are few and far between, and even a stellar review will only get you a 4% raise. Communication between management and employees is the worst I've seen. Management is all too ready to buckle to unreasonable contract demands/changes, probably due to the fact they are a small company that needs their contracts.

    Advice to Management

Offer competitive salaries and stop treating your employees like they are expendable. Replace middle managers with people who know what they are doing. Start giving technical interviews to prospective employees instead of just filling slots with little regard to actual qualifications.

    Pros

Benefits are great with the company. The company really cares about it's employees. Managers are very hands on and really try to make the work environment great.

    Cons

None to think of other than the contracts can be a little worry some like any contract position. Which anyone in contracting knows how it is.

    Advice to Management

I believe Alatec does a great job picking it's management and does a excellent job supporting them to the best of their ability.

    Pros

Seem to care more than past contract holders and have delivered as promised so far.

    Cons

Lure of BCBS was great until discovering it was high deductible w/ HSA but co. contributes to HSA to take the sting out of the amount and the 80/20 coverage.

I worked at Ignite Fueling Innovation (More than 10 years)

    Pros

-Salary is nice. If you were doing the same work in the private (non-federal government) sector you would see ~$20K reduction in salary!
    -Employer matching 401k
    -ESOP
    -Employer contribution HSA

    Cons

-Health insurance can be seen as "good" or "okay" considering the massive increase that happened across the nation. However, the company had outstanding health benefits not too long ago, then they switched to high deductible - not a good move. It may save the company money but it costs the employees.
-Seems that program managers and their assistants are on overhead. Every other company in our area of work has PMs that work on a specific program for the gov't.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the old health insurance.
