Pros

Not much to talk about

Cons

I realised that this organisation take advantage of volunteers to build customer communities then treat both their ambassador and members like money making object. Received a lot of complaints but the company policy is to do nothing to fix customers' issues. Close to a fraud. Can only cheat blind people!

InterNations is made up of a team of around 100 employees in Munich, and a whole network of dedicated volunteers who help organize events locally. As an essential part of the InterNations family, we treat our volunteers with the utmost respect and have a dedicated team to support them. A combination of these events and an online network of like-minded people helps expats feel at home, often when they’re many miles from their support network. Many of our team have been or are currently expats, know what it’s like to be in that position, and go out of their way to support our members as a result. Despite all the work that goes into organizing events and building an online network, there’s no cost to join InterNations — it’s free! It’s been that way since we started the company almost ten years ago, and is something we’re proud to continue. We run our business with an open-mind, honesty, and entrepreneurial spirit — we’re always happy to welcome those with the same mindset to work with us. Best regards, Your InterNations Team

Company filled with regrets

Pros

Not many pros. Some of the people are nice but that is about it.

Cons

A company which takes a lot of advantage of the people. They have 'benefits' that you would not write home about. They are not open for change, but instead just replace the people that they see as a "problem". And for an international company, they are not very accepting of other cultures. I have seen with my own eyes how they rejected people from so-called "troubled countries" onto their platform. How does that for a business with an international vision? As an excuse for his behaviour they tell their employees that they want to keep the community "clean". Such a shame, because the company has a great concept, just the wrong formula.

It seems there’s some confusion about our membership policy. We recognize that life abroad creates some unique challenges, and are primarily a community for expats. To maintain our community focus, we have a membership process in place that invites people to tell us about their international experience. As a result, InterNations members come from all four corners of the world representing over 200 nationalities across 390 communities. We take the same open-minded and inclusive approach to our employees too, and currently have 34 different nationalities in the InterNations Team. Living abroad requires an open mind, ability to adapt, and a respect for difference. These are core values at InterNations, and the anonymous comment above is not an accurate reflection of what we do or our philosophy. If you share these core values, we’d love to hear from you!
