InterNations is made up of a team of around 100 employees in Munich, and a whole network of dedicated volunteers who help organize events locally. As an essential part of the InterNations family, we treat our volunteers with the utmost respect and have a dedicated team to support them. A combination of these events and an online network of like-minded people helps expats feel at home, often when they’re many miles from their support network. Many of our team have been or are currently expats, know what it’s like to be in that position, and go out of their way to support our members as a result. Despite all the work that goes into organizing events and building an online network, there’s no cost to join InterNations — it’s free! It’s been that way since we started the company almost ten years ago, and is something we’re proud to continue. It seems there’s some confusion about our membership policy. We recognize that life abroad creates some unique challenges, and are primarily a community for expats. To maintain our community focus, we have a membership process in place that invites people to tell us about their international experience. As a result, InterNations members come from all four corners of the world representing over 200 nationalities across 390 communities. We take the same open-minded and inclusive approach to our employees too, and currently have 34 different nationalities in the InterNations Team. Living abroad requires an open mind, ability to adapt, and a respect for difference.
