I worked at JetSmarter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None, none, free coffee at the FBO's, none, none.

    Cons

The worst management you'll ever encounter, negative work environment, stupid middle of the night hours (and no extra pay), not allowed to fly on the jets as an employee, zero perks, bullying, harassment, not getting paid on time, inconsistency, drama and favoritism among management and employees.

    Advice to Management

Do the world and your future employees a favor and close your doors already! I suggest doing it before you ruin anymore optimistic, hard working professionals' morale and mental/emotional health any further. You are everything that embodies the workplace people steer clear from. You have no business managing people or even running a company. The day your crooked, greedy, dysfunctional selves close your doors, will be the best thing thats happened to private aviation as well as every legitimate employee currently working for you. Current employees: you deserve better. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN.

    I worked at JetSmarter full-time

    Pros

    Hard to name any pros!

    Cons

Where do I begin? I have read the previous reviews and they all pretty much hit the nail on the head. JetSmarter is the perfect place for you if you are looking for a negative work environment, zero transparency, zero incentives, zero leadership and management (the main reason why the company is the way it is - starting with the CEO himself.) This is also the perfect company for anyone who wants to work for a management team that looks at their employees as nothing but numbers! They couldn't care less about any of their employees and the people who are still there (shocking anyone would still be) are only there because they are willing to step on anybody to get to the "Top" - not sure what top as the company has been going downhill fast! Anyhow, do yourself a favor and steer clear.

    Advice to Management

Employees come first - keep that in mind.

    Pros

The people are really cool! The whole concept is great.

    Cons

Lack of structure and unrealistic expectation. The rot is deeply rooted.

I have been working at JetSmarter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company is disrupting the aviation industry and you have the opportunity to learn and grow with the business model.

You work with people that are from different parts of the world and are relatively young.

Work environment is awesome and very modern. You are in a great location in South Florida.

    Cons

Most management has little to no experience.... they have their favorites who were there from the beginning that sold an easy product when it first came out but are now lazy and have a huge ego that holds them back.

Salary is relatively lower and commission structure in sales are constantly adjusted so it is hard to rely on.

    Advice to Management

Keep EVERYONE involved. Do not just put your favorite people in a meeting at the end of the day to make an influential decision. Have a proactive approach to any adjustment and communicate with your members before major changes happen to avoid negative reviews.

    Pros

    Young, talented and hardworking people

    Cons

Business Strategy, Leadership, Inexperienced Management, Communication, and Transparency

    Advice to Management

The company needed (and still needs) experienced individuals in leadership positions (not kids), especially due to the complex business structure. Not having seasoned professionals in critical roles from the beginning has now deeply damaged the day-to-day functionality of this business. Very sad to see such a great concept implemented so poorly. Anyone trying to advance their career should avoid this chaos and put their time and effort somewhere else.

I worked at JetSmarter full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    • 100% medical
    • 401k is better than most
    • ability to work remotely if needed as most everything is web based

    Cons

    Where do I start?

The individual who wrote the review titled “the truth is” hits the nail on the head with almost every comment. I recommend you read that post.

I will add that it almost feels frowned upon to take time off.

If you want to feel like you’re not learning much or growing your career, then this is where you should work. Sometimes i felt like you were un-learning anything you may have learned at a prior employer/school.

Management has little to no communication with anyone but a select few.

     Leadership from management = lol.
A lot of management is rude on top of not knowing how to manage/teach others anything (a lot of people with Director and high up positions and that being their first job out of college or a few years into their career)

Very much so the blind leading the blind.

Disappointed in what I envisioned a startup being.

    Advice to Management

Start changing leadership and thinking logically/communicating or the few valuable and hard working employees you have left will leave.

    Pros

Everyday is something new. Its not your usually 9-5 job just sitting behind a desk doing the same tasks over and over. No matter what position you are in, you are required to actually THINK. This place is for people that are hardworking, motivated and driven by more than just a "hey, good job" or money. It's for those that want to be a part of a company that is revolutionizing air travel. If you are willing to work hard, you will be rewarded.

    Cons

Sometimes its hard to just disconnect since everything everyone does is vital to the organization.

    Advice to Management

Remember we are all a team.

I have been working at JetSmarter full-time

    Pros

Fun atmosphere depending on the day.
    Great health insurance

    Cons

    No communication between departments
Company is too much in the corporation mindset, way too soon
Salary ties you into working far more hours than the 40 you're supposed to work
Directors have no idea how their department works, pile on loads of additional work
    Lacks overall culture

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees on what can be done to make JetSmarter run better. The very rare email stating how you care for your employees makes no impact at all, we know it isn't true. Look at the retention rates of people working here. People only stay because they believe in the CEO's dream, however management destroys it a little more everyday.
