    Pros

    Good opportunities for growth, the company promotes cashier, track and mechanics to managers and managers to regional managers on a regular basis.

    Cons

    Not really a con, but expect to work hard. The company is growing and managers who work hard have an excellent chance of being promoted.

    Easy enough work, schedule is malleable, it can be fun.

    Cons

    Hard to move up, hours can be tedious.

    Pros

    A couple free races a week

    Cons

    14 hour days with NO OVERTIME PAY
    No control over hiring/firing/scheduling your own employees
    Need approval for EVERYTHING
    No coverage to take a day off

    Advice to Management

    Let the managers actually MANAGE and pay them properly!

    I worked at K1 Speed full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are lots of good people that work for this company. The product could be great if the company was willing to empower managers. Most customers are a blast to work with.

    Cons

    The company has promoted managers and corporate staff that have little to no clue what they are supposed to, therefore turnover is HIGH! Sr, Management changes policies and ideas weekly and then send little no communication about the policy changes but expects you to know about the change in detail.

    Advice to Management

    Create a SOP and stick to it for more than a week. You are spending tons of money training new managers in CA. During my 10 day trip out to CA, it was a waste of time because everything I learned there was no good by the time I flew home.

    Long day on your feet, little breaks. No room to advance.

    Pros

    Free races, fun coworkers, good PART TIME job, fun un-caring first job.

    Cons

    Inexperienced, try-hard, incompetent corporate people.
    No pay raise
    Constant scolding and reprimanding no matter how good of a job we do.

    Advice to Management

    Treat the employees who make your business work with decency and respect. Without us your company would not exist and you would not make money which you clearly die for.
    Every single time someone leaves a complaint on yelp (which happens often) we get chewed up and treated like we are useless senseless kids. They love to look at the negatives and hate to look at the positives.
    I worked for this company for over two years and I never got a single raise even though I worked my heart out for them. This job is easy but it takes a toll on you physically: pushing 200 pound karts on a constant basis, running around the track showing people how to reverse, rushing to plug/unplug karts, breaking up fights between customers, helping injured racers on the track, etc...
    Management does not care and they will push you to your limits just so they can make more money, even when customers harass and curse at you in front of everyone for telling them not to bump others.
    I worked for years in many other companies before K1 and I am a senior in college so I know what good management is and should be like.
    K1 Speed does not care about their employees, they care about their slimy money.
    This company will not treat you right, look somewhere else for your own sake.

    Management has an open door policy and is always open to suggestions. The employees are friendly and often do activities together.

    Cons

    Unfortunately there is no retirement plan in place.

    wonderful staff, environment and energy

    Cons

    dealing with upset customers who are always upset over the same things-- no one answers the phones, long wait times on weekends. things that could easily be updated on the website or fixed with more staffing.
