I worked at Lake Compounce full-time

    Pros

Free admission into the park, friendly management, easy to get hired

    Cons

Long hours, small food discounts, unpaid during long breaks (2 hours).

    Advice to Management

    Better screening of employers

I worked at Lake Compounce part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're young, you're working with people your own age and it makes things tolerable at times.

Free entry to the park whenever you want, which is nice.

Some of the jobs like ride attendant and technician, front gate, are easy and rewarding

Room for growth... I mean, it's seasonal work, but there is growth.

    Cons

    This is for foods only:

    - Working conditions are awful. It is so hot in there. People pass out all the time.

    - Long hours, and non-commital management that don't care about your needs, only theirs. If you want to leave at your scheduled shift, they beg you to stay, and you become stigmatized if you don't.

    - Workplace harassment is common and, really, expected. Even from some of the adult managers there. It is disgusting.

    - Social life goes down the drain. You don't have one.

    Advice to Management

Completely rehaul your company's power format and management levels.

Ideal job for young college or high school students. Fun summer job with experience in the customer service industry.

    Cons

It can be hot and busy and days/shifts can be long

I worked at Lake Compounce part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I made friends there, fun place to work at with the right people. Good job experience, especially if you work in foods.

    Cons

The coaches and managers play favorites. They give people they like more hours. A lot have attitude, thinking they're great and everything. And they promised you a job the next season, but never follow through with it.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites! And do your job!

    Pros

Working here is great if you need some pocket cash. Some customers that will come up to your game booths may be irritated and irrational but that is expected to happen due to the heat. You get to meet many new people and make friends. Plus it is a great communication experience.

    Cons

You do not get to sit or slouch that much when attending games. If you are working a 6 hour shift you rarely have breaks but if you are an 8-10 hour shift you get a 45 minute break.

    Advice to Management

If you want workers to keep being happy and cheery, let them sit for a bit or relax while no customers are up to their booths.

    Pros

Discounts are great, job is fun. Free admission, tm nights are great

    Cons

Drive there, told to go home all the time. No consideration. They promote people who suck up and don't care.

I worked at Lake Compounce part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people. Some of the people I met here have become my best friends.

    Cons

On your feet all day. Not able to sit or lean during downtime. Always wanting us to be doing "something," but I can only clean the counter so many times...

    Advice to Management

Ease up. Let people sit or lean. If the person working is comfortable and happy, they'll be able to extend that to the customers. Whereas if I'm achy from having to stand up straight all day, it's harder for me to be cheery for the customers. And we don't always need to be doing something.

I have been working at Lake Compounce part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Easy to get a job

    Cons

Hot. Managers don't take you seriously. Have to walk through the entire park from parking across the street.

    Advice to Management

Let go of that ego. It's just Lake Compounce.
