    Pros

Favoritism can go's a long way as long as your on the receiving end of it.

Strong family owned company that's determined to remain competitive and successful in their industry.

    Cons

Management leaves a lot to be desired with favoritism and dishonesty. Often creating a toxic environment for some that do not go a long to get a long, and fit into their perceived image of greatness. The sad part is greatness is not reliant upon being a hard working success story, with ethic and skill set.

So decisions will often be made based on the best interest of the managers instead of the best interest of the the company and customers.
Unfortunately they have full control of all components, leads, lead distribution, account assignment, etc. So they can and do make any one appear as a failure or a rock star, as they see fit.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees and making the position one based on ability and drive.
Perhaps you will then find the consistent department success the company seeks.

Or eventually you will be found out by HR from the many complaints and issues you create, and that may not be the outcome you want.

I worked at Leanin' Tree full-time

    Pros

This family owned company is small enough not to be a heartless corporate entity. It would not surprise me if the CEO knew everyone by name. When I worked there, pictures of all employees were posted on the walls and organized by department. The company has a great reputation amongst the artists and agents in art licensing community. The warehouse area is very clean. Turnover is unusually low, which reflects well on the company.

    Cons

The cons are mostly the flip side of the pros—being smaller means fewer opportunities for advancement and a benefits program that is good, but not great.

    Pros

Beautiful product. Family owned company working to foster the family atmosphere. Great sculpture garden that the public can visit for free.

    Cons

Management team that doesn't give a damn about anything but goals. Competitive culture between inside sales and outside sales with inside sales given no boundries to who or how they sell. One manager in particular does nothing to develop his "team".

    Advice to Management

Open your ears and eyes to the wool that is being pulled over them by Texas.

I worked at Leanin' Tree full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some nice people, Good training, Great Benefits, Good start to kids out of high school

    Cons

Marketing refuses to open up more options to younger generations to generate better sales. They recycle numbers of potential customers even after being told to remove them from the list. They do not pay well unless you've been there for 10 years plus.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they say something is wrong and take them seriously. Stop allowing people to throw hissy fits to get their way, they are grown adults so give them proper warnings before letting them go.

    Pros

Learning Tree is very good place for beginners to kick start their career. They are very friendly, informal and there is a lot of hand-holding in the initial phases.

    Cons

The salary is not up to market rates and that accounts for the high turn-over. There are are no regular appraisals and increments as well.

    Advice to Management

    Better evaluations and appraisals

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Denver, CO

    Pros

Family owned company, with diverse product line in a great area. The company does care about quality, innovation and customer service.

    Cons

Family owned company, and all that that implies. Lack of true leadership in upper management positions. Exceedingly long hours during certain seasons.

    Advice to Management

Consistency, consistency, consistency. Too many corporate decisions made at the drop of a hat, with little or no reason for implementing.
