Pros

Working on some really cheesy bad movies and turning really bad cheesy movies in to 3D

Cons

If you get in to this VFX sweat shop, dont expect a decent wage, they barely pay their Leads around $27-32 an hour and it's taken a long time to get to that wage, not every lead is even making that much. Expect to negotiate from between $22 to $27 based off experience. They will give the newer artists hard shots and expect them to be near to completion and check in chickened within hours of receiving the shot as they have this ridiculous new method they recently implemented where the hard shot is 10 hours and a medium shot is 6-8 hours and an easy shot is 4 - 6 hours which might be a bit more realistic if they had Clean Plates and Rotos ready for the task, yet they also expect you to do the work which should be sent to outsource. I've been at Legend for several years and they seem to be quite cheap with providing outsource assets, I guess thats another Legend thing that just happens, it hasn't changed for years and its no wonder why Stereo D is so successful. Upper management may not be aware but I have witnessed several artists get so stressed out that they throw hissy fits and temper tantrums and cuss and whine because they are so stressed about meeting the new stupid check-in and review times that some disconnected number crunching idiot came up with, and If you continually underperform you will not be talked to like an adult about your performance time and told it needs improvement because the upper management crowd has no confrontational courage to talk to you like a human being they will just send in their minion to ask an artist to come to the office where you will be terminated and told that the company is going through Rough times. I have had several close friends that this has happened to and it's the way of Legend, They quietly and quickly whisk an employee away never to be seen or heard from again by friends and colleagues and their minion just comes to pick up their stuff off their desk and acts like everything is all good and everyone just looks at each other like what is going on? It's funny because they claim to be able to communicate and say they will let you know if they have any issues before they fire you, yet this is just a lie just like the lies they tell when they lure you in with a silly promise of hiring you as full-time staff. The Long hours are quite unreasonable as we can do 15-20 hour days (I've done longer days than that) they will say go home once a shot has been approved and thinking they are being generous they will tell you to come in a little later than your regular time which is 9am after you've worked almost 20 hours but oh wait their incentive is bringing in Junk food all the time which is the nastiest food I've ever eaten, can we say boycott? Don't let the insults, and cursing and talking down to artists or leads in anger and frustration at 3am from higher ups get to you as it can constantly drain you mentally and physically. You will be expected to work crunch time on back to back projects until you are so burned out that you wont want to come in anymore and they wont let up on their expectations of grinding you down to the bone and then throwing you away when you aren't needed by them anymore. The company Bends over backwards just to work on small Scraps of 15 or 20 mins of a movie thrown to them from Marvel and because they want their business they will take the abuse and in the end the abuse will trickle down to the teams and artists working Legend's sweat shop. Dont believe the hype you hear either about Legend's VR they have a small amount of work and arent doing as well as they are advertising. Oh and Canada? We are tired of doing all your work for you and having to fix all the extra problems you cause in your scripts.

Pros

The only good thing at this company are the employees - the artists. There are some very fun and good people.

Cons

All the other bad reviews of this company are dead true. If you are thinking about working here, take into consideration of all the other reviews as they are a FACT. The company does not value employees at all, treat you like their work minions or little children - micromanaging and threatening to know to down the last minute what you are doing away from your desk, like going to bathroom. You need to come to work exactly at 9AM, if you are 15 minutes late or early, you will be disciplined. As an employee at Legend, you are replaceable at any time. If you think working for movies gets you a 'cast and crew screening', don't bother. They will cherry pick whoever they like and send out small invites to them only, and every movie same people will get those invites. Same goes for the movie ending credits. They won't give you raises, for a fact there are many employees that has gotten 0 raises over TWO-year period. They are constantly hiring new executive members that does god-knows-what, seems like the company is getting less and less movies and VR to work on this year. They fire good artists and does not listen to employees at all(They will ignore your emails, or short one word answer- NO). The morale is very low and toxic. If Legend paid the staff artists what they are worth, they would be ecstatic to come in and work hard, produce better results in shorter times.
