Excited for the future of this company
Mar 22, 2016 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mogl/Empyr is an excellent place to work. It’s not often you can legitimately be excited about what the company you work for is doing and where it’s heading, but that’s exactly what it’s like here. Being a startup, you can make a huge impact if you’re willing to hustle. It’s awesome to be able to see the things you do propel the growth of a company that’s not only doing something new, but doing something potentially huge. I’m noticing a lot of great changes as the company is rapidly evolving and can’t wait to see where it's heading. The leadership is trustworthy and cares about the well-being of employees - they always encourage education and open communication.
Cons
The only cons I can come up with are part of the nature of the startup. You'll sometimes have to wear multiple hats, be flexible, and prioritize your time well to get the job done. Some days you might have to work long hours. But that's part of the excitement and why working at a startup isn't like a "normal" job. You work hard for the potential of a greater reward and the satisfaction of creating something new. Since the company is evolving rapidly, work-load is will likely increase, but management is cognizant of this and are already planning to manage scale so it doesn't become a bottleneck.

Great Company, Great Culture with big potential. The best job I've had.
Apr 17, 2014 - in San Diego, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The interview process was extremely thorough and difficult which means if you nail a job there you'll get to work alongside A players. Great perks for employees: Awesome health care, fully stocked kitchen and bar, dog friendly office, games & company parties. Cool product & making a difference in the world feels good. Plenty of communication (daily, weekly & monthly meetings). Management has a proven track record, listens to staff and takes action. Venture backed company, big potential in a multi-hundred-billion dollar industry.
Cons
Long hours can put stress on some people. Sometimes people (particularly us millenials) like the idea of working for a high potential or growth company. We talk a big game but aren't really prepared to make the sacrifices needed to to get it there. People look at the facebook movie and think everything is going to be rosey and happen overnight. They think its all foosball tables and beenbags and they are going to get rich quick. When this doesn't happen they can become drains on morale.

Very Silicon Valley-ish

We have meetings every single morning and every department gives reports. Casual dress code. Free drinks on Fridays. Breakfast and lunch in the kitchen. Median age is around 26. Access to swimming pool, gym, tennis court, etc. Continuous training from the managers and VP. Higher positions constantly pop up and everyone is invited to apply. The service we promote is legit and you feel proud wearing your green Mogl t-shirt around the tech center.
Cons
Loud music. Work environment can get a little distracting at times (stuff still gets done, though). It is a start-up, so your performance is constantly evaluated to see if you're delivering a good ROI as an employee. Commissions are pretty low.

Great place to make an impact and be a part of something big!

This is a fun, young, exciting company with tons of room for you to grow if you choose to. They really encourage you to learn new programs and get involved to make the most of your position. Ideas are ALWAYS welcome and they give you room to execute them. I loved the people in my department and the company values are awesome.
Cons
I'd say the only sorta con was the long hours. It's a start up so it's par for the course. Really there's so much to do that time does fly and you don't even realize it!

Pros
The people were great, management does not micromanage, great compensation, during breaks we were able to play fuse ball, Mario kart, Fifa etc. If you had any problems on the phone; management is very quick to have training on it and give good ways to overcome problems in the pitch. Product worked like a charm since working for MOGL in 2014 the venues I signed up made over 1million dollars in revenue which makes this product easy to sell. Great company outings, made some great life time friends while working here.
Cons
Lost a lot in Mario Kart which is the biggest con. But other then that no cons while working for this business.

Brand Ambassador

Everyone one who works there is great to work with and really wants to take things to another level of success. Things are always feeling good in the office. Not to mention they always have plenty of food and coffee for everyone.
Cons
There isn't much to complain about other than having asked to work on the weekends but you should expect to put in hard work for a company that is relatively young. Goals and metrics are important to them however they are willing to work with you very closely.
