I worked at MSNBC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great, interesting work Good place to cut your teeth in journalism

    Cons

A lot of middle managers who are inept and probably couldn't find work anywhere else but manage to cling on to mid-level jobs - it's challenging to work for someone who resents the fact that you both know you will pass them in your career trajectory Misogyny reigns! Men are promoted about 5 times faster than women here

I have been working at MSNBC full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

If your confident in your abilities this place will really let you flourish. Tons of room for growth and a pretty good culture for a corporation.

    Cons

Some departments can be toxic from what I hear from friends. Typical TV "backstabbing". Ppl love to avoid blame. But this goes for most companies.

I worked at MSNBC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

We were really proud of our mission and the work we produced.

    Cons

MSNBC.com was absorbed into NBCnews.com, and the transition was an absolute mess.

    I worked at MSNBC

    Pros

If you are liked, you are booked regularly.

    Cons

Bookings sometimes feel very tied to who is in power in Congress and the White House. More women booked when HRC was running for president and fewer after. More minorities were booked when President Obama was running and in office; fewer after President Trump was elected.
