    Cons

    - Salary and benefits unsatisfactory

    Pros

    Good work/life balance
    Work from home flexibility
Used to be a good client base and variety of work/projects
    Nice Waltham office

    Cons

The company is very fiscally conservative, which can
also be a good thing, but as a result, nobody gets paid their market worth. Health insurance plans are a joke, and very expensive. No 401k matching. No retirement plan. No bonus structure. No defined career path. No long term benefit other than gaining experience. The company recently experienced a layoff, and it seemed like the people that were there the longest were the ones that got let go, and they kept the newer people that are making less money. Interesting move for a company that prides itself on client satisfaction and quality. Again - "fiscally conservative". What used to be a good client base, is slowly diminishing, and sales hasn't done much recently to bring in new business. I think this is also a communication problem, and a disconnect between upper management and sales, with sales not really knowing what/how to sell company services. Mentoring is also non-existent. A very "sink or swim on your own" atmosphere. No annual review, or pay raise unless you harass your manager for 6 months after you were supposed to have your review.

HR Issues: Definitely some sketchy things going on. The company went a full calendar year without replacing the HR manager who left the company for "personal reasons". Rewinding back a few years to one of those superstorms we had: the company policy clearly indicated that if there ever was a state of emergency due to inclement weather, the company would be closed for the day. On that day in particular, (when it was a state of emergency) the company went against it's own policy, and stayed open without notifying any of the employees. Later that day, HR sends a company-wide email with a revised handbook attached with a specific update to the company closing policy just to cover themselves. Technically, I think that was an illegal move, and I'm surprised the company didn't catch more heat for that, but that's the truth.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent with your employees. Also I really hope that laying off tenured people to save money doesn't become a habit. There are a lot of smart, diligent employees you're going to continue to lose, and people are going to see there is no long term benefit for working hard here. It will only hurt the company culture. You're not a start up company anymore. Stop operating like one.

    Pros

Flexible schedule and ability to work remotely as needed.

    Cons

New management has made some iffy decisions. Company feels like its on a downhill path in terms of new business and existing clients. Low pay, poor morale, lack of training, and there is no consistency in communications from management (if you even get a communication in the first place). There is no company culture and no support from management to improve.

    Advice to Management

Clearer communication and follow-through is desperately needed.

I worked at MarketOne (More than a year)

    Pros

Initially the company made good promises of growth and opportunities but failed to keep up with their words.

    Cons

Having been a good employee for a year and a half, for personal reasons I asked options to remote work or other temp options. But they seemed very rude and unprofessional enough to not just explore the remote work option for me but instead behaved in a way that was asking me to leave the company. They have no respect and appreciation for their employees - no wonder the attrition rate at MarketOne is so high.

    Advice to Management

It would be good to see a company that calls itself an International company actually behave like one - International companies provide growth for employees, provide options to retain good employees but here they are just arrogant enough to fulfill just their needs and no that of an employee.

    Pros

The people are incredibly nice, dedicated to solving issues, and usually very cooperative. They have an incredible list of clients and a very pleasant working atmosphere.

    Cons

The company has transformed itself from being a teleservices company into a more complex organization, dabbling in consulting and digital advertising. They are completely lacking in processes and controls, and internal communication is confused at best. Further, they suffer a sever "cult of personality," where a single individual dominates areas while completely lacking the ability to do so.
