I have been working at MediaCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, bonuses, holiday parties, overall I love this company. Just to clarify, I am not apart of management in any way, just a Mediacom Technitian. Company is very flexible when it comes to time off and family emergencies.

    Cons

Hours can be long, during certain parts of the season, but it isn't bad.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up.

I worked at MediaCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people for the most part are great. Established great friendships. Under WPP so there is opportunity to move around the WPP network.

    Cons

-The leadership is not taking this small office in the right direction.
-Super long hours and expect you to live and breath work. They don't scope projects and expect you to do a job of 5 people.
-No room for growth within the office
    -Strict vacation policy

    Advice to Management

Allocate the proper resources to this office if you want to properly grow and reduce heavy turn around.

I have been working at MediaCom full-time

    Pros

Cool people to work with and great location

    Cons

People are worked like dogs, and unless you have an angel client, you're constantly spinning your wheels on nothing.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who know how to manage.

I worked at MediaCom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Access to many research tool. Smart people. Nothing more to document.

    Cons

If you want to be treated like a cog in a wheel come here. You're replaceable. You're a number in the system. You're meaningless to them.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like humans. Learn to grow a culture and stick with it. Learn to recognize people. Learn how to grow an employee.

I worked at MediaCom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best part was the perks but thats all of media - you can get the same perks at another agency (that will treat you better)!

    Cons

There is a lot of favoritism. For the employees that really actually work hard, they do not get acknowledged or appreciated at all so, there is no way for hard workers to grow within the company.

There is a lot of gossip - you are with these people for more than 40 hours and office and personal life start to collide.

Work/Life balance sucks! When you are on a big account, please be prepared to work way more than the minimum required (aka Sunday to Saturday).

Compensation sucks! They do not give people raises YoY... Bonuses are only for the higher level (Sr Partner etc. etc.)

HR really doesn't help when you want to move off of an account or transfer to a different city - they drag their feet. You might as well go to another agency that will make you 20-30k more with a promotion.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to really appreciate the workers who come in at 8am and leave 9pm every night because the burn out of employees will lead to low retention within the company. In addition to that, please make sure that the supervisor/AMDs are actually managers that are willing to teach their team opposed to making their team feel like they are incompetent.
