I worked at MediaNet Digital full-time

    Pros

Coworkers were extremely hardworking and took pride in it. Good foot in the door for tech + music experience. Decent holiday time off.

    Cons

Culture is stuck in the past - traditional 9-5 type position. Little to no incentive for employees to bond outside of regular work hours - poor morale overall. Little to no transparency about company changes from parent company. Very difficult to get a raise or promotion or growth in skills.

I have been working at MediaNet Digital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good location, solid mission. Challenging, startup-esque environment, relatively independent work environment. If you push yourself, things can move very fast. You have to stick up for and push your new ideas, which I see as a pro.

    Cons

Music industry is tough and changing fast, so don't expect to do the same thing for 3 years. Challenges abound. Could be a positive, you just need to be a self-starter and flexible as hell. Also, the location is beautiful but catching a bus near Elliott is tough on occasion.

I worked at MediaNet Digital full-time

    Pros

Flexibility with schedule Convenient location (Belltown) Some genuinely nice, hardworking folks Solid medical/dental benefits

    Cons

Majority of senior staff has left in the last couple years and very few have been replaced Private company run by tightfisted, out-of-state board CEO lacks focus and is rarely in the office; high level of micromanagement means he's often a bottleneck No 401K matching Poor compensation compared with local tech Small staff stretched to the limit Change is incremental and never well-funded Terrible company morale and no leadership, mentoring, or responsiveness to requests for professional growth Absolutely no company culture, no mission statement A couple perhaps undeservedly large egos make for a challenging environment

    MediaNet Digital Response

    August 4, 2015CEO

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're committed to building a highly functioning, happy music industry team, so I'm disappointed to hear about your experiences. Our sustainable growth in a competitive and transforming industry is my number one goal. I'm committed to continuing our innovation as a company, and spend a significant amount of my time away growing our business. I'm mindful of the changes happening around MediaNet, and am working hard to better situate us in the rapidly growing digital music space. Our new public relations team helps my efforts abroad to be brought to light. I'm glad you feel our employee benefits are solid. As we mature we continue to look for ways to improve. We have increased benefits each year, including adding an additional week off between Christmas and New Year, increasing health and medical benefits annually, providing additional time off for community service work—to name a few. We always seek to expand our benefits in a responsible manner. I hope you'll be happy to hear that we've recently hired a number of smart folks who I can proudly say I trust, along with our tremendous leadership team. As we grow and the market becomes more competitive, it becomes harder to get to know everyone. I'll admit sometimes I become focused on the execution of our goals, and don't leave time to walk the office and engage. To improve, I'm working hard with individuals to help them grow and expand their leadership, organization, and decision-making skills. Thank you for your thoughts and time. With gratitude, Frank Johnson CEO

I worked at MediaNet Digital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Was a fun place to work for many years, meet a lot of passionate people who loved music. I grew a ton there over my years of employment.

    Cons

There was no training really and with the executives and most of management being in NYC there sometimes were communication gaps.

I worked at MediaNet Digital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Music Industry, blending of Music, Business & Technology

    Cons

Leadership, music industry. Leadership at the time did not have the strongest broad business and leadership skills and were lacking in integrity. Brought in execs & consultants with serious integrity issues to "help" and not surprisingly things got worse before they dumped most of the Exec leadership and re-started. Music & Technology industries do not integrate well, and leadership made the chasm worse not better.
