    I worked at Meebo full-time

    Pros

Meebo is probably one the best places I have worked in my career. Very passionate people who were all very focused on being the best that they can. Catered lunches twice a week. Flexible work schedules as long as the work gets done. Whenever I had a suggestion for how to improve a process or fix something, ideas were always considered and if not, very understanding reasons were given. Truly a place for success.

    Cons

The average age here at the company is pretty young. As a result, there are a lot of people here who are learning on the job. But, everyone is very open and eager to learn so the expertise is quickly growing.

    Advice to Management

Although the company is now sold to Meebo I want the management to know that whatever they end up doing and whereever they end of going, they keep the same culture and values they established at Meebo.

I have been working at Meebo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Complete transparency from the top down with very few "layers" of middle management. Feel like you are moving the needle with your work on daily basis. Great collaborative atmosphere with an even better team bond.

    Cons

Could have been quicker to deploy some product features.

Help us carve out a career path

I worked at Meebo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Meebo attracted some of the best talent by fostering an employees-first culture. The company's founders saw to it that employees were always interested, engaged and happy. Beyond the usual perks of food and drink, they provided adequate time for education, vacation and enjoyment–often inviting employees to explore new technologies, experiment with new projects and even take part in fun and educational scavenger hunts.

    Cons

    Unfortunately, they are now Google.

    I worked at Meebo full-time

    Pros

Some of the most brilliant programmers/developers I've worked with were at Meebo. Their location in downtown Mountain View was great, and most of the co-founders were great to work with.

    Cons

Some departments were big on turf-defending and drama. The company decided long ago to scrap their most popular product (Messenger) and its associated goodwill, focusing on an ad toolbar that most ad blockers were very happy to get rid of.

I worked at Meebo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working day-to-day with the smartest people I've met inspired me daily. Working across teams was always a pleasure because everybody was very empathetic and could see all sides of discussions.

    Cons

The kitchen was all the way upstairs! Very few people were eager for happy hour after a long week, which kinda sucked but I guess is healthy :)

Opportunities for advancement were slim-to-none. Some teams grew, some teams did not, so I never leveled up.

Also, the company no longer exists, so... that's sort of a con, right?

    Advice to Management

    Promote from within next time.

I worked at Meebo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people! I am sad to no longer be a part of such a dynamic team. Working out of NY was basically working remotely as the majority of the development team was in Mountain View.

    Cons

The company no longer exists as a separate entity, so no one can work at Meebo as it was anymore.

    Cons

    With growth politics started entering
    Recruitments with culture miss fits.
